When Marta was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, her life changed overnight. After surgery and months of chemotherapy, she faced a long and uncertain recovery. Doctors had done all they could, but between check-ups she often felt alone, battling both physical pain and the emotional weight of the illness.

That was when Marta discovered the “hospice family.” The team became her lifeline, visiting her at home, managing her pain, tending to her wounds, and, just as importantly, caring for her spirit. Dr. Paul, one of her doctors, often stayed to pray with her, while nurses were there at all hours, even on weekends, offering comfort and encouragement.

Today Marta’s condition is stable. She says the hospice team gave her not only the medical care she needed but also the peace of knowing she wasn’t alone. When her breast prosthesis cracked and she couldn’t afford a replacement, the hospice stepped in with a donated one, thanks to our supporters in the UK. For Marta, this simple gift became a powerful part of her healing, restoring her dignity and confidence.

“Hospice surrounded me with angels,” Marta reflects.

“They gave me strength, comfort, and hope in the hardest moments of my life.”
