Important Information About a Cyber Security Incident
Hospices of Hope is aware of a cyber security incident involving Beacon CRM, the charity system we use to manage supporter information. Beacon has informed us that an unauthorised third party accessed copies of data held within its systems. The incident has affected a number of charities using Beacon, and their investigation is ongoing.
We do not know whether any Hospices of Hope supporter information was involved or the full extent of any impact. We wanted to be open with our supporters while investigations continue.
What we know
- There is currently no evidence that Hospices of Hope supporter information has been misused.
- Payment card or banking information is not stored within Beacon and has therefore not been affected.
- Beacon has taken immediate steps to secure its systems and is working with independent cyber security specialists and the relevant authorities.
