Fundraising – Schools
We love to share our hospice mission with schools. Not only does it reinforce important messages about less fortunate areas of the world, we can also approach the topic of hospice care with the utmost sensitivity. We are happy to speak at assemblies or events, or kick off a fundraising challenge. Setting a fundraising goal is an ideal way to get the whole school together and focused on a collective purpose, encouraging pupils to take part in activities that can even be fun for teachers! Already have a fundraising idea? We’d love to hear all about it. If not, we have some inspiration below. Get your school involved today!

One of the best ways to support us is by making us your school’s charity of the year. The whole school can join in activities to fundraise for us, learn about giving and have fun. We can help you plan your activities. Contact our fundraising team if you would like to discuss this. We can come to your school to talk about our work (in person or virtually), and ask us about our mascot, Bagpuss, coming along too!
Fundraising ideas
Even small events such a guess the number of sweets in a jar or a raffle can make a real difference and get students involved!
Ask students to miss a treat for a day and to donate the cost of that treat to the fundraising
Make and sell some tasty treats to raise money
Organise a summer fete with stalls of food, treats and games. Or if your school already has a fete, ask students to organise and run a stall to raise funds for us
Hold a sponsored silence, game or challenge
Organise a talent show and charge for tickets and interval refreshments
Bagpuss
Lovable cat, Bagpuss, is our mascot and helps care for very sick children. He may be able to visit your school to tell you more about our work. Contact our fundraising team to request a visit.
